This is first feeling you get when you hear the name, see or taste the bitter gourd.

Because of its bitter taste it is also known as bitter melon, bitter squash and balsam pear and it is one of the most neglected vegetable in the family.

Bitter gourd has different names in different languages. If we talk India’s official languages, so in hindi, urdu and punjabi, it is called as “Karela“. In bangla it is called as “Korolla” etc.

But do you know it is also one of the most healthiest vegetables in mankind.

I am sharing some of the benefits of bitter gourd.

1) Bitter Gourd is an excellent remedy for diabetes to lower blood sugar level.

2) It helps in purifying the blood and it is considered as an ideal treatment for blood disorders like blood boils.

3) Mixture of bitter gourd juice with buttermilk is beneficial for the people suffering from piles. All you need to do is have this mixture every morning for about a month.

4) Bitter Gourd helps in preventing constipation.

5) If you want a perfect figure or if you are on a diet, then eat or drink juice of Bitter gourd.

6) Bitter Gourd is also a known remedy for certain skin diseases and skin infections such as eczema.

7) Diluting two ounces of bitter gourd juice with honey, helps in fighting against the diseases like Pharyngitis, Bronchitis and Asthma.

8) Bitter Gourd is considered beneficial for the women health. It not only treats menstrual disorders and genital problems but also assists in secreting milk during the lactation phase after pregnancy.
