We have entered the 21st century 17 years ago, but uptill now the society hasn’t accepted many issues that women are facing today, because of which they are suffering from various problems since child.
Here I am sharing some of the problems that women are still facing today.
1. Domestic Violence
Women who suffer from Domestic Violence, they are stuck in the situation for nearly three years as per the researchers. Women who are strong fight against the situation and women who are weak, they end up their life. There are many women shelters that are opened to help the women. But with more and more women’s shelters being closed every year due to budget cuts, immediate and apparent help is becoming less likely than ever.
2. Harrasment
Nearly 60 to 70 % women suufer harrasment everyday in some or the other way. They suffer from abuse either through followed by someone in the roads or the house, or through social networking sites. If a man is contacting physically with his wife, even if the wife is denying repeatedly; that’s also a harrasment or rather I can say a new term “Domestic Harrasment”.
3. Rape
In India, rape has become a common issue. Nearly 60% rape cases are found every year in India. Most of the rape cases are found in Metropolitian cities. People have a cheap mentality for clothes for any girl. The capital city Delhi is recorded as the most unsafe city for women in India.
4. Trafficking
Men, women and children are trafficked within their own countries and across international borders.
20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide into commercial sexual servitude, forced labor and bonded labor and trafficking women and children for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world.
They say women and girls make up 98% of victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
5. Sex Discrimination
Women are considered as weaker section of the society than men. They are given less importance than Women. Girls children are becoming real victims of the discrimination. There are also discrimination of power and work between men and women because of the patriarchal system families in India. Gender discrimination is affecting women in the areas like nutrition, education, health, care, decline of female population, job, public life, etc.
6. Dowry System
It is becoming another huge women problem in the society which is increasing day by day. Women are ill-treated, man-handled, disrespected, tortured and suffer other cruelties (violence, murder and suicide) because of the lack of dowry at the time of marriage. It cause degradation of women status to a great extent.
The Society needs to changed and women should be given their powers because women are no less then men!!
